Reclaiming land from the sea to facilitate construction of berths for ships to dock, building Container Freight Stations, yards, concrete and asphalt roads, rail network, concrete paving works, electrical works, sewerage & drainage services, fire fighting systems and sewage treatment plant, warehouse and workshops, port operations and administration buildings, (including BMS and HVAC work, VESDA and gas bank systems) office and customs space - all this and more goes into developing ports and harbours.
